Tholos Art Hotel Interior Design
Knowing how Santorini has been transformed through centuries of volcanic eruptions, the visitor is overcome by a sense of awe for the raw powers of nature which have formed the landscape like a theatre set. At the caldera, one can almost feel the invisible force which sculpts the earth with fire and water, to produce art that is larger than life. The mainland also offers a touching experience, as one discovers how this violent force of nature has influenced local art and architecture and the spirit of the island. Everything is different here, everything is extraordinary. This ensemble of images, experiences and emotions, Santorini’s gift, is what inspired the design of the Boutique Tholos Resort.

THE SERENITY SUPERIOR SUITE - DESIGN & IMPLEMENTATION
For the design of this superior suite, we borrowed the cubist elements of the local architecture, which we adapted to the needs of a hospitality establishment.

THE DANCERS’ SUPERIOR SUITE DESIGN
We used forms inspired from dancers’ bodies and combine them to compose the architecture of the room, such as the closet and the bed. The visitor feels they are in a space of fantasy, an art hotel.

The Apple Suite - Design & Implementation
This room has been designed with the Kaldera views in mind. The bed was raised and placed on the viewpoint axis. Right behind it, the shower was separated by glass, so that the Kaldera may be visible from there.

THE COUPLE’S SUITE - DESIGN WITH PRIVATE OUTDOOR JACUZZI
This suite was designed with a boutique hotel perspective, with the aim to create unique, individualized spaces. We maintained the room shell and added built elements such as the bed, benches, seating and artistic installation.

THE ROCK SUITE - DESIGN WITH PRIVATE OUTDOOR JACUZZI
Our design practice transformed this room into a two-spaced suite, with corresponding amenities and artistic interventions fitting for an Art Hotel.

deluxe suite with hammam & private jacuzzi
This deluxe suite was redesigned with a view to maximizing comfort and functionality. A sense of luxury was created in a space where textures colors and built elements are all references to the local architecture.

HONEYMOON SUITE WITH PRIVATE OUTDOOR JACUZZI
The bridal suite of Tholos was designed individually from the rest. Subspaces gradually unfold before the visitors, as they enter. The walls have a striking lyrical plasticity, capturing something of the new couple’s eroticism. The closets, benches and beds are all set within organic forms, creating a unified sculptural whole. The absence of regularity of this otherwise harmonious suite invites the visitors to an exclusive experience.
